What’s Spinning 01/26/19

Band: The Killing Tree

Album: The Romance of Helen Trent

Favourite Track: Switchblade Architect

Year: 2002

Label: One Day Savior Records/Think Fast Records

What’s spinning tonight is The Killing Tree – The Romance of Helen Trent. I think that this is my favourite album ever. I was elated to see that Think Fast Records was releasing this for the first time ever on vinyl. I own the CD from around when it came out, One Day Savior Records was still around and I was able to order it right from them. I never got to see TKT live, but I did see Rise Against a lot then. TKT was a side band by Tim and Todd from Rise Against, as well as Geoff and Timothy from .baxter. (another band Tim was in). I was lucky to hear this band because my good friend Nara had their album. I love every track that they put out. You can get their demo “Bury Me at Make-Out Creek” on eBay, but it’s costly. I was told that Underground Communique Records was re-releasing it. They also released their last EP “We Sing Sin” which came out on Eyeball Records in 2003. Tim is still making music, but it is not in the vein of TKT. I’m one of a few people that always hold out hope for a TKT reunion. Sometimes when Tim plays acoustic sets, he plays “Them’s Fighting Words” which is a song from this record. We can only hope.
