What’s spinning tonight is Dead Quiet – Grand Rites. Dead Quiet is a relatively new band, formed from the ashes of Barn Burner and the bands Bend Sinister, Anciients, and Hashteroid. This is their second album, the first album Dead Quiet came out in 2015. You could say that Dead Quiet is a continuation of Barn Burner’s Stoner Metal sound, but there are so many more layers to the music. The addition of keyboards to the sound adds a whole new depth to the music. The songs on Grand Rites start right where the S/T album left off. My favourite track is Moon Curser which grinds the album open. I always recommend Dead Quiet/Barn Burner to anyone who will listen to me.
